Tasks Required to Upgrade GENESIS to Version 11

To successfully upgrade GENESIS from version 10.97.0 or later to version 11, you need to perform the following tasks.

  • Review the prerequisites.

    Go through the list of tasks that you need to perform before installing version 11, such as checking the system requirements.

  • Check the compatibility of your existing projects.

    Download and run the GENESIS Version 11 Compatibility Analyzer to check your projects created in a 10.97 version of GENESIS and identify areas that may cause compatibility issues with version 11.

  • Kill your current GENESIS license.

    Temporarily disable your software license. This allows you to reactivate the license for the new system after the upgrade.

  • Uninstall GENESIS Version 10.

    Make sure you correctly uninstall any previous versions of GENESIS and other ICONICS products before installing the new version.

  • Install GENESIS Version 11.

    Install GENESIS from the .iso image file or DVD by running the GENESIS_Setup.exe installer.

  • Configure the system.

    Perform the required initial system configuration based on the type of installation.

  • Upgrade your existing projects.

    Use the GENESIS Version 11 Upgrade Utility to easily migrate configurations and settings from version 10 to version 11.

  • (Optional) Customize the language localization.

    You can change the default GENESIS localization, which corresponds with the language version of Windows, to another supported language.
