Before You Begin

Before upgrading GENESIS to version 11, do the following:

  • Make sure that your system meets the minimum hardware and software requirements. Learn more
  • Make sure that you have a Windows account with local administrator privileges.
  • (Optional) If you plan to use an existing SQL Server with the SQL Security authentication for connecting to GENESIS databases, obtain new or existing user account credentials for that SQL Server. If you want to create a new database, make sure your credentials include permission to create databases.
  • For connecting to a remote SQL Server, both machines must be in the same Active Directory.
  • Obtain the GENESIS version 11 installation package in one of the following ways:
  • Obtain the Product Registration Number(s) and Customer Key(s) needed to activate your license.

    You can obtain your product registration numbers and customer keys from the email that you received when you purchased the license. If you cannot locate this email, you can find your registration numbers on the ICONICS Community Portal. If you still cannot find your product registration numbers, contact ICONICS Customer Support. To obtain your customer key, contact license@iconics.com.

  • Make sure that the FrameWorX™ Server communication is using WebSockets. GENESIS version 11 does not support any other options.

    Switching the FrameWorX Server endpoint settings to WebSockets may require other changes in your IT infrastructure.
