Adding a Device Group

Mitsubishi Electric devices can be configured through a provider within the Mitsubishi Electric FA node in Workbench. The configuration also allows creating a collection of devices in Device Groups. These groups can help with sorting and arrangement of any of the discovered or added Mitsubishi Electric devices configured in Workbench.

To Add a device group:

1. Open Workbench and in Project Explorer, expand your project > Data Connectivity, right-click Mitsubishi Electric FA, and select Add Device Group.

   

   -OR-

   Select the Mitsubishi Electric FA node in Project Explorer, and then click the Add Device Group button in the Edit section of the Home ribbon.

   

   This opens the Device Group configuration dialog in the central panel of Workbench.

2. In the Name text entry field, enter a name for the device group.

   

3. In Description, enter a description for your device group to differentiate it from others in the Project Explorer.

4. Click Apply to save your settings, and Close to return to Workbench. Your new device group will now appear in the Project Explorer tree structure.
