Installation Troubleshooting FAQs

The following table describes issues that may occur while installing GENESIS and configuring the system.

Issue	Solution
After inserting the installation DVD and selecting the GENESIS folder, the installation does not start.	If the installation does not automatically start, double-click GENESIS_Setup.exe in the GENESIS folder.
Cannot connect to the SQL Server.	In Windows Services, verify that the SQL Server service is running. If it isn't running, start the service. Learn how To start the service: In the Windows search box, enter Services, and then select the Services app in the search results. Scroll through the list, right-click the SQL Server service for the desired server, and select Start. For example, right-click SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS), and then select Start.
Cannot create a database related to GENESIS.	Check to see if you have the privileges to access the configuration database used by GENESIS. You need a SQL Server account with permission to create databases. Learn more
After reinstalling GENESIS or the operating system, I cannot operate Workbench.	To resolve the issue, try the following: In the Windows search box, enter configure system, open the Configure System application with administrator privileges, and reconfigure the system settings. Learn more Run the GENESIS_Setup.exe file from the installation package and execute Repair. Completely uninstall GENESIS, and then install it again.
