Configuring a Data Exporter Task

A synchronization task exports one or more datasets to a storage each time its trigger fires. Before you begin, configure the storage and the dataset.

To configure a synchronization task:

  1. Open Workbench and in Project Explorer, expand your project > Historical Data > Data Historian > Data Exporters.

  2. Right-click Tasks and select Add Synchronization Task. The synchronization task configuration opens.

  3. In Name, enter a name for the task.

  4. On the Task Properties tab, in the General Settings section, leave Enabled selected. In Synchronization Offset, set how far before the previous run each export starts. The default is 1 minute.

  5. In the Storage Trigger Event section, do the following:

    1. In Storage, select the storage.

    2. In Trigger, select , and then select the trigger that starts each export, such as Actions > Triggers > Date/Time Triggers > Every Minute.

  6. In the Data Storage Schedule section, set when the export starts a new storage container, such as a new file or table:

  7. (Optional) If the dataset or storage uses aliases, enter their values in the Aliases section, in the form Name1=Value1;Name2=Value2. Learn more

  8. On the Datasets tab, select Add, and then in Dataset ID, select the dataset. Repeat for each dataset this task exports.

  9. Select Apply. The task exports data the next time its trigger fires.
