Report Editor Overview
Report Editor is an add-in feature for Microsoft Excel that is installed with the Reports component of GENESIS. With Report Editor, you can quickly and easily access your real-time and historical data repositories from GENESIS, configure reports related to your industrial process, and view them in Microsoft Excel.
Report Editor requires Microsoft Office 365 or Microsoft Office Business 2024 and later.
Report Editor allows you to retrieve data from the following sources:
- HDA (historical) data from an application server in GENESIS
- Historical alarms from an alarm log in GENESIS
In addition to gathering data, you can filter data that falls within a specific time interval or satisfies the conditions of built-in array functions in Excel. You can also combine data into summary statistics using a variety of aggregation methods with Report Editor. You can even adjust access privileges to allow other users to access only the data relevant to them.
Using the intuitive point-and-click wizard interface in an Excel task pane, you can easily select the desired data, select a location within the spreadsheet to view the data, and include any filters that you wish to apply.
