About Demo Mode
After installing GENESIS version 11, Workbench opens in demo mode. Demo mode is a trial license that has the following limitations:
- Single node—You can only use GENESIS version 11 on a single node.
- Time limit—Demo mode runs for 2 hours and then needs to be reset. There is no limit on the number of resets that you can perform. During a reset, real-time data points are frozen for 5 minutes.
- No historical output—There is no historical data export or historical API data.
Once you activate a license on the server, these limitations are removed.
The lower left corner of the Workbench screen will display "Demo" for the license mode. When the license expires, a red banner displays at the bottom of the screen. In GraphWorX, the message displays as a watermark. You can restart demo mode by clicking the link in the red banner (or watermark). There is no limit to the number of restarts that you can perform.
Once demo mode has restarted, the message changes to "Demo mode has started. The system will start providing data in n minutes."
You can also view the demo mode status in the License Monitor. Learn more
