In companion with the PLC CPUs, MELSEC PLCs can pair up with additional modules and adapters. These modules and adapters can add support to one or more of the following protocols: USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, and CC-Link. These protocols are used to programming them, deploying different configurations, etc.. This is usually used to add new capabilities to a PLC. The system configuration when using MELSEC is shown for each communication protocol. For details on the cables used, refer to the manuals for each Mitsubishi Electric product.

Communicate with MELSOFT connection. For details, refer to the manual of the connected Mitsubishi Electric product.
When the connected device communicates with multiple MELSOFT (Mitsubishi Electric's engineering software products such as GX Works3) by TCP, the same number of settings as the connected MELSOFT (MELSOFT connected device settings) need to be set in the parameter settings of the connected device. For details, refer to the manual of the connected Mitsubishi Electric product.
Not compatible with RnPCPU and RnPSFCPU.
Excluding FX5U, FX5UC, FX3U, FX3UC.
Excluding Q00UJ, Q00U, Q01U, Q02U, Q03UD, Q04UDEH, Q06UDEH, Q10UDEH, Q13UDEH, Q20UDEH, Q26UDEH, Q50UDEH, Q100UDEH, Q04UDPV, Q06UDPV, Q13UDPV, Q26UDPV, Q03UDV, Q04UDV, Q06UDV, Q13UDV, Q26UDV, L02/L02-P, L06/L06-P, L26/L26-P, L26-BT/L26-PBT.
Excluding Q01U, Q02U, Q03UD, Q04UDH, Q06UDH, Q10UDH, Q12PRH, Q13UDH, Q13UDH, Q20UDH, Q25PRH, Q26UDH, QS001, L02/L02S-P.
In a single operating environment, GENESIS and other MELSOFT connections cannot be connected simultaneously via the same route. However, if the protocols are different, simultaneous connections are possible even on the same route. (For example, TCP and UDP connections over Ethernet can communicate simultaneously.)
Since GX Simulator2 and 3 do not support simulation in redundant mode, simulator connections are not supported when the TargetSystem is set to Redundant CPU.
