Migrating AlertWorX Configurations to GENESIS Version 11

When upgrading from GENESIS version 10.97 to version 11, most of the AlertWorX migration is done by the standard upgrade procedure, with the use of Compatibility Analyzer and Upgrade Utility.

However, you may need to perform some tasks manually. In Alert Notifications (AlertWorX), it is typically copying configuration files and settings specific to a certain provider, such as Gmail or Alert Sierra.

Gmail Configuration

To migrate Gmail configuration settings to version 11, open C:\ProgramData\ICONICS, locate Gmail.config.xml, and copy the file to C:\Program Files\ICONICS\GENESIS64\Services\AlertWorX.

Alert Sierra Configuration

To migrate Alert Sierra configuration settings to version 11, do the following:

1. Before uninstalling GENESIS, back up Sierra.config.xml, located in C:\ProgramData\ICONICS.
2. Upgrade to GENESIS version 11, following the Upgrade Guide.
3. Go to C:\ProgramData\ICONICS and open Sierra.config.xml. If needed, copy the backed-up file to this folder.
4. Open Workbench and in Project Explorer, expand your project > Alert Notifications > SMS/Text Nodes and select the configuration(s) used for Sierra modems.
5. On the Hardware and Data tab in the Sierra Modem Settings section, select Use Sierra Modem for Sending SMS.

6. Enter the related data from Sierra.config.xml to the following fields:

   • Client IP Address
   • Client Port
   • Server IP Address
   • Server Port
7. If the Sierra.config.xml settings are different, also edit the Start String, End String, and Delimiter fields.
