Text Translations Overview

Language aliasing uses aliases and text translations to enable displaying a certain word or phrase in your GraphWorX visualizations in the desired language.

Aliases

A language alias is a placeholder name that gets replaced with the defined text translation for the language that is currently active in GENESIS.

In the example above, alias names d0 through d6 are defined for the days of the week. Translations in various languages are also specified. In a visualization, the alias name is used surrounded by language alias tokens /+ +/.

You can also organize aliases into folders, and the names of the parent folders become a part of the overall alias name. For instance, if you use the alias /+Cal\Gre\d2+/ and the current language is English, it is replaced by Tuesday. If the current language is French, that alias is replaced by mardi.

You can right-click on any language alias row to access a copy/paste interface. This can be used to ease the process of creating many similar alias strings.

System Text

System text is a special classification of language aliases. It defines text translations that are required by the GENESIS system. Consequently, you are not allowed to delete these aliases because the system depends on them. However, you can modify the existing translations for these aliases, or create more translations if you add new languages to your configuration.
