Handling Instantiation Errors

When creating equipment nodes from an equipment class, you are prompted to replace the aliases with real values. If any errors in the instantiation of the equipment class aliases occur, an error message is displayed in the action progress dialog, and none of the new equipment nodes are saved. You need to save the progress log before closing the dialog, so that you can fix the error and try again.

To save and fix instantiation errors:

1. In the instantiation process dialog, click To Clipboard to copy all messages from the dialog to the Windows clipboard.

2. If you are prompted for permission to access the clipboard, grant it.

3. Open a text editor such as Microsoft Notepad, paste the text into a text file, and save it.

4. Close the dialog in Workbench. Once the dialog is closed, the changes in the asset tree are rolled back.

5. Use the error text to fix the error(s), and then try to create the equipment node again.
