Setting Up a Multimedia Agent

AlarmWorX™64 MMX's agents are now configured as alert notifications. You need to select one or more alert notification types, and then configure those alert notifications.

Notes:

  • If you are using Bridging or Connected Field Service, you first need to set up alert notifications. Once the alert notification has been configured, it is available for use in Bridging or Connected Field Service workflows.
  • Unlike AlarmWorX64 MMX, contact information is not always configured on an agent or an alert notification. If you use Connected Field Service, contact information is configured with workers. If you use Bridging, contact information is configured in the activity in the workflow template.

To create an alert notification:

  1. Select one or more of the following alert notification options to replace your AlarmWorX64 MMX agents.

    Many cell phone service providers support sending email messages to phone numbers, which can be used instead of sending SMS messages. This may be a simpler solution than using a modem or a service to send SMS messages.

  2. Configure the alert notification.

    1. In Workbench go to Alarms and Notifications > Alert Notifications.
    2. Right-click the folder that goes with your alert type, then add a new alert.
    3. Configure the new alert as needed.
