IP Device Marquee Agent (Hardware)

The IP Device Marquee Agent sends alarm and event messages to external scrolling marquees, and includes support for multiple (LAN-based) devices.

The following configuration fields are available for the IP Device Marquee Agent:

Media Item Name: Enter a name for the IP Device Marquee Agent configuration.
Description: Allows you to add comments to the agent configuration.
Media Template: You must choose a template to be used with the agent. The template determines what information is displayed in the marquee message. The Configurator includes a template, called Default Marquee, created for sending marquee messages. For more information about templates, see Media Templates.
TEST button: Displays a test marquee message.
Scheduling: If you are using scheduling, choose from the configured schedules from the drop-down list. For more information, refer to Schedules.
Role: Select a role from the drop-down list. For information about roles, see Working With Roles.
Enable Alarm Prioritization: When this check box is checked, the multimedia system processes alarms based on the severity level of the alarm. If the check box is empty, alarms are processed on a first-in-first-out basis.
Device IP Address: Specifies the IP address for the hardware device. You can also specify the Port number and the Delay Between Alarms (in seconds). The Traditional mode allows the hardware device to display the entire text string. This mode displays the text string all at once without scrolling. The Header and Trailer specify a sequence of ASCII characters that determine how the message is displayed. Click the Edit button to edit the ASCII special characters.
Port: Specifies the port number for the hardware device.
Header and Trailer: Specify a sequence of ASCII characters that determine how the message is displayed. Click the Edit button to edit the ASCII special characters.
Delay: Specifies the number of seconds to wait between alarm messages sent to the hardware device.
Connection Lifetime: Specifies how long the device socket will remain open to receive alarm messages. If you select Maximum, the device socket will remain open until the agent closes and no more alarm messages are sent to the hardware device. If you select Minimum, the device socket will open and close each time an alarm message is sent to the hardware device. If you select Time Restricted, the device socket will close after the specified number of minutes.
Play: Specifies the number of times the marquee message will be displayed.
Maximum Play Time: Sets the maximum play time (in seconds).
Apply button: Saves all changes to the configuration database.
Reset button: Clears all recently added information.
Refresh Button: Clears all recently added information.
