Enabling or Disabling Components in a Project

Not all projects require every component in GENESIS. You can enable or disable components as desired.

To enable or disable components in a project:

  1. Open Workbench. On the Home tab of the top ribbon, select Configure Application(s) settings .

  2. In the Available Applications section of the dialog, find the component you want to enable or disable. Select the checkbox next to the component's name to enable the component; clear the checkbox to disable it.

  3. For enabled components, verify the following information:

    • SQL Server: The name of the SQL Server instance where the database is stored.

    • Catalog: The name of the database where the configuration is stored.

    • Local Cache: When selected, the local configuration cache is enabled. Learn more

Additionally, the Notes column reports the status of each component's configuration, which can be helpful when investigating if something is incorrectly configured.
  4. (Optional) To create a new configuration in the selected database, select (Create or overwrite the database associated with this application).

  5. When finished, select Apply & Close. The added components appear in the Project Explorer tree structure.
