Creating a Project Overview

Workbench provides two workflows to create a new project, the Quick Project Wizard and the Advanced Project Wizard. You can select the wizard by clicking New Project on the Project ribbon.

Quick Project Wizard

It creates a new project in a single step using the default configuration. You only need to specify a unique name of the project and with one click, Workbench retrieves and automatically adds all available components from the default SQL server. You can customize some settings like selecting a different SQL Server or excluding some components from the list.

Advanced Project Wizard

It is a tool for expert users and creates a new project in multiple steps that allow you to configure the following parameters:

• The name of the SQL server and the name of the project
• The connection settings to the configuration database, either existing or new
• The list of components to be added in the project

Once the creation process is completed, Workbench automatically opens the Configure Application Settings dialog where you can continue with configuring the components in the project.
