GENESIS Platform Introductory Project
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions has created an introductory project that can be instructive to learning core elements of the GENESIS platform. The purpose of this guide is to help new users get started with GENESIS. It takes a practical approach, using a Tank Farm Management System (TFMS) as an example. A TFMS monitors liquids to ensure safety and protection against leaks and measures tank levels, pressure volatility, and flow rates to ensure operational efficiency.
Our project scenario consists of three liquid storage tanks, tank-level pumps, valves, tank depth, pressure, and temperature indicators, and flow meters for monitoring purposes. It steps through the processes to connect to data from an OPC UA Server, organize and deploy Assets both individually and at scale, and building graphic displays to provide visualization and control to the processes depicted in the project. It also includes optional extension topics related to integrating data historization and trending and alarm management into the project.
