Secure Operation Guidelines

  • Ensure that the GENESIS security configuration is implemented in such a way that users only have read, write, and configuration permissions to what is appropriate for their functions.
  • GENESIS security allows for the definition of security policies that further control how users and groups access the system, which should be defined as appropriate for the user and group functions.
    • You can restrict user logins to specific hours of the day and days of the week using the Time Sheet tab of the policy.
    • You can restrict user logins to specific stations using the Stations tab for Users or Groups security.
    • The security policies also can control the length of time before a user is automatically logged out of the system after inactivity or a set time.
    • Additionally, you can define how user account lockout is managed in terms of auto-unlocking after failed login attempts or requiring an administrator to do so.
