GraphWorX in Mobile Applications
You can leverage many of the existing GENESIS visualization capabilities such as viewing trends, acknowledging alarms, and monitoring production, from a mobile device with the iOS or Android operating system. To run a mobile app, there is a server counterpart that serves the content and handles client requests.
Installation
Open the app store for your device (App Store or Google Play). Search for MobileHMI and install the application.
GraphWorX Mobile App Edit Mode
To assist in configuring mobile displays, GraphWorX™ has a Mobile App edit mode. It hides any features or components that cannot be used on mobile platforms.
The PubDisplay Folder
The files in this folder are made accessible for mobile clients by the server counterpart. By default, GraphWorX saves displays to this folder in the following location:
C:\ProgramData\ICONICS\11\PubDisplay
Mobile Screen Development
Ensure that all interactive elements are large enough to be easily tapped with a finger. Due to smaller screen sizes, prioritize essential features and content, avoiding clutter. Use legible fonts and appropriate text sizes to ensure readability on small screens.
Landing Page
It is the first page that you see when the mobile application opens and connects to the server. It is a regular GraphWorX display (index.gdfx) that is located in the PubDisplay folder.
Features
Compared to the web browser or desktop platforms, there are several features that are available only in mobile applications:
- QR code scanning
- Bar code scanning
- GPS location
- Geofence
- Worker access (Connected Field Service)
