Unsubscribing from Vonage Notifications

You have the following options when unsubscribing from or resubscribing to Vonage notifications:

  • To unsubscribe from Vonage notifications at Vonage's end, send an SMS with STOP to the Vonage phone number. If the Vonage plugin in the GENESIS Web API Service is up and running, your number is also added to the ALERT_DeniedNumbers table in GENESIS, and further messages to this number are no longer sent.
  • For Text-to-Speech, press * on the voice call when prompted. If the Vonage plugin in the GENESIS Web API Service is up and running, your number will be added to the ALERT_DeniedNumbers table in GENESIS, and notifications to this number are no longer sent.
  • To resubscribe, send START or UNSTOP to the Vonage phone number to start receiving notifications again. If the Vonage plugin in the GENESIS Web API Service is up and running, your number is automatically removed from the ALERT_DeniedNumbers table in GENESIS, and notifications start going out.
  • You can manually add or remove a number from the ALERT_DeniedNumbers table to disable or enable sending notifications to that number. However, if you have unsubscribed or resubscribed by sending a text message to the Vonage number, you still need to restart or stop the Vonage subscription by sending an SMS with one of the keywords to Vonage from your number.
  • Unsubscribing and resubscribing apply to all modes of notifications, which means that if you unsubscribe via Text-to-Speech, you are also unsubscribed from SMS and WhatsApp notifications, and similarly for unsubscribing or resubscribing via other modes of Vonage communication.
