Configuring a Logger

Loggers store the alarm event data from collections in persistent storage. They periodically create storage files based on configurable conditions.

To configure a new logger:

1. Open Workbench and in Project Explorer, expand your project > Alarms and Notifications > Alarm Historian, and then right-click Logger and select Add Logger. The Logger Configuration window is displayed.

   

2. In the Name field of the configuration dialog, enter a name for the logger.

3. Make sure that the Enabled checkbox is selected (checked).

4. In Data Store Directory, enter the path to the folder for storing the data, or click to browse for the desired directory.

   If Data Store Directory is blank, the logger uses the default directory specified in global settings.

5. Edit the remaining settings as needed, and then click Apply to save your changes.
