AlarmWorX64 Logger
AlarmWorX64 Logger provides a permanent copy of alarm and event notifications produced by any OPC UA Alarm and Events server, including the AlarmWorX64 Server. AlarmWorX64 Logger can store alarm data to a SQL database for later replay. The logger records historical alarm data in a log file that can be retained in storage, replayed, or manipulated to create reports. With the Logger you can do the following:
-
View alarms and generate reports
-
Perform statistical analysis on your logged alarms
The alarm and event data are stored in a SQL Server or SQL Server database that is created and configured in the same manner that the other supporting GENESIS64 databases are. The logger is configured within the Workbench where the logger service can be stopped or started. Since the AlarmWorX64 Logger runs as a service, it has no other visible interface than what you see in the few configuration forms that it uses to expose its logging parameters.
The configuration database contains one or more Logger configurations. Each configuration specifies a subset of alarms and events to be logged to a single database table and/or printer. Additionally, the configuration defines which data fields (columns) available are to be stored in the log file.
To Open AlarmWorX64 Logger in Workbench:
-
From the Workbench, expand your Project in the Tree Explorer, then expand Alarms and Notifications.
-
You'll see the AlarmWorX64 Logger node of the Tree Explorer
To Configure the Logger, follow the steps in the instructions provided in the following topics:
Once you have configured the logger, you can verify that the service is running by opening the GenTray utility in the GENESIS64 Workbench and clicking on the AlarmWorX64 Logger service. Its status appears in the details pane.
There are instances when you are in the Workbench application where you need to move from AlarmWorX64 Viewer to AlarmWorX64 Server to AlarmWorX64 Logger when one or more of these components isn't loaded into the Project Explorer's tree control. To place the icon into the tree control launch bar, click the tree control menu button and select the component. Once the icon is in the tree control shortcuts you can click the icon to view the component in the tree control.
