Publishing Display Files

Publishing GraphWorX display files is a relatively straightforward process. When you create a display, GraphWorX prompts you to save the file to PubDisplay (C:\ProgramData\ICONICS\11\PubDisplay\<filename.gdx>).

If you do not see the ProgramData folder in the File Explorer, the folder is hidden. Go to the View tab to enable showing hidden items.

For the Start-Up Guide, we will publish the Tank Farm Management System (TFMS) as an HTML5 file. In this format, you can share the file with others by providing the link via an email so the recipient can view it in their web browser or download the file to a designated location.

To publish the TFMS display:

  1. Open GraphWorX (use the Windows search box to locate and open the app).
  2. In the status bar (bottom right), click to log in to GraphWorX with your assigned user name and password. For further information, see Securing User Access to GENESIS Client Applications.
  3. On the ribbon, click File, and then select Open. The PubDisplay folder is displayed.

  4. Select TankDemoSystem and click Open. The selected file appears on the canvas.

  5. In the status bar, expand the drop-down list and select Web Browser.
  6. In the upper right corner, click Open in Web Browser to view the display on the web. Click Yes when the system asks you to save the display, even if you did not make any changes. The system shows the display in the browser in run-time mode.
  7. The browser address bar displays the server's HTTP web address. Share the display file by copying the web address and sending the link via email.
If the person or client with whom you are sharing the display requires a secure HTTPS, it must be set up through Internet Information Services (IIS).
  8. Close the web browser to return to the GraphWorX display.
