About Equipment Classes
You can think of an equipment class as a template for an equipment category. After each equipment category and the equipment class properties are created, you will populate the class (or to put it another way, create one or more instances of that class) as individual pieces of equipment, such as Tank 01, Tank 02, and Tank 03. You can use Bulk Asset Configurator to execute this procedure.
For example, consider the Tanks equipment category. Each instance has a unique readable name so you can tell them apart (Tank 01, Tank 02, Tank 03), and four equipment class properties that store data for that each specific tank (Density, Depth, Inner Pressure, Temperature) as shown in the following image.
Do you see how there is a Temperature equipment class property for Tank 01, Tank 02, and Tank 03? Each tank requires this property since its temperature measurements will be different. For instance, Tank 01 may run warmer than Tank 02, which may be in the shadows and run a little colder.
