Creating Alarm Configurations

The following is an overview of how to create a basic alarm configuration. This is a suggested procedure for quickly and easily using the alarm Configurator's power and flexibility to develop a new alarm configuration:

  1. Create a subscription

  2. Create an alarm filter

  3. Create a multimedia agent

  4. Configure an alarm configuration

  5. Create an action set

  6. Make the database active

  7. Start the Multimedia Server

In order to allow intranet/Internet-based alarm subscriptions or alarm notification, you will need to configure either DCOM or TCP/IP communications.
