Time Zones Alignment
By default, the X axis of the trend viewer represents the client's local time. When Time Zones Alignment is enabled, the X axis represents the server's local time. If there are multiple servers, for different pens, each pen will be displayed at the server's local time.
The X axis's idea of "now" will aligns with the client time zone, regardless of the Time Zones Alignment setting.
Example
We have a client in the Eastern time zone (UTC-5) and three servers located in the Eastern (UTC-5), Central (UTC-6), and Mountain (UTC-7) time zones. The client is showing three pens, one from each server.
An event happens simultaneously on all three servers. It occurs at 12:00 UTC (7 AM Eastern, 6 AM Central, 5 AM Mountain).
This table describes how that event will show on the viewer in the Eastern time zone:
|
Setting |
Result |
|---|---|
|
Time Zones Alignment is disabled (default) |
The event will appear for all pens at 7 AM. |
|
Time Zones Alignment is enabled |
The event will show at 7 AM for the Eastern server's pen, 6 AM for the Central server's pen, and 5 AM for the Mountain server's pen. |
