Redundancy and Licensing

The GENESIS64 Redundancy entitlement allows a server to run as part of a redundant server pair. Each server of the pair needs this entitlement. Redundant licenses are usually sold in pairs.

Servers that do not have the GENESIS64 Redundancy entitlement can still connect to redundant data sources.

When each server in a pair is hosting its own license, both servers need to have enough entitlements to cover all clients that will be connecting to this server pair. This ensures that all clients will continue to be licensed if one of the redundant servers has failed. For example, if you need to run 10 clients simultaneously then each server needs to have 10 client entitlements. This way, no matter which server is online or active, all 10 clients will be able to get their entitlements.
