Software License Recovery
Software license recovery provides a 30-day extension that matches your current valid license in case you lose your license. For example, if hardware changes or VM host changes cause the loss of your license, then licensing will enter the recovery mode.
For software license recovery mode to work, your system must have a valid system license. To avoid interruption to your production system, contact ICONICS to obtain a valid replacement license before software license recovery mode expires (after 30 days, the license becomes invalid). See Licensing Overview for information.
Key information:
- Software license recovery mode does not support hardware keys or cloud-based licenses.
- You cannot copy the recovery license to another machine.
- Killing the current software license using the License Utility does not stop the system from working—it enters into software license recovery mode to ensure operability in the production environment. When transferring the license from one production machine to another. See Transferring a Software License.
When in software license recovery mode, you can view the license status in the following GENESIS64™ components:
- Workbench
A warning banner appears at the bottom of the pane.
-

You can also view Licensing from the Tools tab in Workbench.
-
