MIB Items in SNMP Connector

The MIB tree control, shown in the figure below, is used to load and unload MIBs from the database. The MIB tree is a dictionary that contains the translations between numbers and names (and all the information about the names). Unlike traditional dictionaries, the structure of this one is a tree, because of the tree structure of the SNMP data. This structure makes it easier to find an item inside this MIB dictionary.

Features of the MIB tree control include the ability to:

  • Create and edit MIB items

  • Create folders for MIB items

To configure general MIB settings, select the MIB tree control. To populate the MIB Items tree dictionary, you need to parse some standard MIB files. The tree control is populated by the translations retrieved by the selected MIB files, and there is a list of files parsed.
